Small Show Garden 'Splash'

NEC Gardeners World Live 2006

This design was created using the theme of dark and light with accents of colour. The idea was based around an artists palette.

Planting is a mix of mainly perennials and annuals. The 'Red Baron" grass Imperata cylindrical in the midst of the light beds and the Yellow grass Care elate 'Aurea' in the midst of the dark beds add splashes of primary vibrant colours. Ophiopogon planiscapus 'Nigrescens' planted around the white barked Himalayan Birch shows the black and white of the artists palette. The garden has a low black back wall. The whole garden is set off against the white stone chipped path.

NAC Stoneleigh
A Small Garden 'Romance'

A design and build of a small garden for the National Agricultural Show at Stoneleigh, Coventry. Based around the feeling of Romance. I wanted to show the use of some amazing, dramatic Annuals, and the added scent from lush pink roses. Using herbs such as Chocolate Mint. Adding the soft silver velvet leaves of Artemisia's and the soft feathery touch of fenels. The beds were constructed of white perspex panels and  the 2 side panels were covered with artificial Burgundy Box style panels. The paving was intimitantly broken up by artificial grass squares, and the large pebbles added to the varying textures to entertain the eye.
